The legacy begins: IFC SPORT's unique origin
IFC SPORT's journey is deeply intertwined with the pioneering spirit of UK MMA. While detailed public information on Andy Jardine's specific role with IFC (International Fighting Championship) is limited, he was a key early UK MMA Pioneer, promoter and matchmaker and built and promoted events like CFC, Millennium Brawl, Extreme Brawl & IFC and was the first person to use an octagon cage in the UK for these events.
He also fought on UK shows himself (FX3 & Cage Rage) in (kickboxing/K‑1‑rules style bouts) before and during his promoting career.
Andy Jardine was a key player for UFC's first event in the UK at the Royal Albert Hall in London and received a commendation from UFC for his help with back stage organisation, transport logistics, promoting, fighters and paramedics.

Alex Reid is an English mixed martial artist who fought primarily at middleweight and became well-known in the UK both for his MMA career and later for his TV appearances, including winning Celebrity Big Brother which made him a household name beyond MMA fans.
He competed in a range of British promotions such as Millennium Brawl, Extreme Brawl, Cage Rage, BAMMA & UCMMA and others from around 2000 onward, facing notable opponents and building a long domestic career.
Has a long broader combat sports background, with sources crediting him with hundreds of bouts across amateur and professional MMA, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and related rule‑sets and multiple regional titles (e.g., UK1 middleweight belts).
